Rootote : maekake tote
These graphic tote bags from Rootote are inspired by traditional Japanese maekake aprons. Originating in the Edo period, the distinctive aprons were worn by sake and soy sauce brewers, rice farmers, and miso paste makers, as a way for artisans and shop keepers to promote their business (and they're still used today, easily recognised by their characteristic indigo colour and contrasting orange ties). A great all-purpose bag for a cheerful nod to the culture of taking pride in your work - choose from daruma, maneki neko (lucky cat), or Mt fuji design.
Each bag has two top handles with an adjustable shoulder strap, press-stud closure, 2 internal and rootote's signature side-access external pocket on the reverse. Unlined.
