A lovely painting in which a limited colour and negative space allows the thistle to take centre stage.
Hand painted and affixed to shikishi board, a specially prepared backing with subtle flecking and bold, gold trim that is traditionally used for Sumi ink painting, Shodo calligraphy, or watercolour illustration.
