vintage kokeshi

A lovely example of the Trappist nun kokeshi that were made last century around Hakadate, Hokkaido, near the famous Tenshi No Seibo Torasupichinu Shūdōin (Our Lady of Angels Trappistine Abbey), and sold as souvenirs, and will make an unusual addition to a collection.

Each kokeshi has been thoughtfully hand selected on our travels to resonate as part of a larger collection or when displayed individually.
