In the 1990's Sony Family Club members waited each month for the postman to deliver something very special. Can you imagine receiving a different kokeshi each month by subscription? Handcrafted by masters of their trade, each mail-order dolls exemplified one of the traditional regional decorative styles.

We were very fortunate to have sourced all 15 dolls from the original release. Now you can choose which of these kokeshi will be delivered to your door and added to your own collection. 

Each boxed kokeshi is signed by the maker, and comes with a booklet that includes an artist biography and notes on the style.

style: Togatta

This kokeshi is an example of the Togatta style, one of the oldest styles of kokeshi. Togatta kokeshi often have red tegara patterns on their heads, straight bodies, and sometimes -as with this example- a kimono collar.
