echizen origami paper : japan
Legend has it that over 1,500 years ago, a mysterious woman known as "Kawa-kami Gozen" (the upriver princess), shared the secret of making washi with the people of Echizen. Using Kozo, a plant unique to the region, she taught them how to craft paper from natural materials, providing a way of life in an area lacking rice fields.
This rich tradition lives on in these 130 sheets of Echizen washi, featuring 13 distinct designs. Each 10x10cm sheet captures the essence of ancient craftsmanship, great for adding a touch of Japanese artistry to any project.
