vintage shikishi print : mountain clouds

A dramatic mountain scape, this print is a reproduction of an artwork by Kawabata Ryushi (1885-1966). Trained in oil paints, Ryushi eventually moved to more traditional Japanese mediums (mineral pigments and ink), and was heralded as one the the 'big three' nihonga artists of his time.
