This tanzaku is a colour print from an original woodblock, printed in 1934 for a Japanese women's publication in a series entitled, 'Japanese Beauties'.

Traditionally tanzaku boards are displayed as decorative objects in a home's entry way and often depict the four seasons, flora and fauna or scenes from classical Japanese literature.
